Damascus is a very old city; all these ancient souk and houses have several hundreds of years.
This city is known by this ancient houses called "Hawsh". These are often houses of two floors. With a lot of room around an internal courtyard opened to the sky, it is the center of their life,these courtyards decorate often by arcades, a fountain of water and the famous "diwan", and the walls of this place are often decorate with these fabulous and old ceramics.
